Protect and Defend Your Immune System: Cod Liver Oil + Calphonite

Sep 27th 2023

Fall and back to school are coming and the need for building and protecting the immune system is increasingly important.

CALPHONITE

The reason for using Calphonite is twofold:

  1. Our special patented process substantially reduces the size of the original calcium crystal to its ionic state. This greatly increases the amount of calcium that is immediately assimilated by the body. With this process, we supply as much immediately available calcium in 20% of the R.D.A. as would be available if we were to use a full 100% R.D.A. of the same calcium similarly processed.
  2. Our Calphonite has an acidic pH of approximately 4.6. This is significant because most other calcium supplements on the market have an alkaline pH, which can neutralize the hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Gastric acids are important to break down (non-ionic) calcium crystals. If the digestive juices are already weak in an individual´s stomach, an alkaline calcium supplement will further dilute them. A lack of acidic medium prevents the calcium from being broken down to a form and size the body and bloodstream can utilize. Since all of the digestive juices from the small intestines onward are alkaline, if the calcium is not broken down in the stomach, it will remain in an unassimilated form. Another advantage to the acidic pH of our Calphonite is that it can be taken with meals without diluting the natural digestive juices.

COD LIVER OIL

The old-fashioned cod liver oil contains vitamin D along with vitamin A and omega 3 fatty acids. These nutrients are critical for normal metabolism, brain and nerve function, supporting the cardiovascular system, and protecting and building the immune system.

Vitamin D is one of the keys to fighting infection. If you want evidence, there are multiple nutritional studies (search the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition) that reveal the important role of Vitamin D. And, anecdotally, in many cold weather climates generations have taken Cod Liver Oil during flu season.

In our modern diets, we have a lack of vitamin D. To add vitamin D into your diet:

  • Fatty fish like tuna, mackerel and salmon
  • Foods fortified with vitamin D like dairy, orange juice and cereals
  • Beef liver
  • Cheese
  • Egg yolks
  • Sunshine

Many people use fish oil pills to add vitamin D and Omega's to their diet. The problem is, any pill or capsule is heated/cooked past the point of natural viability to be shelf stable as a pill.

Admittedly, cod liver oil is not the most pleasant supplement by taste. But mixed with your favorite juice is the easiest way to get your vitamins on a daily basis!
