3 Ways to Stay Healthy During COVID

May 15th 2020

Washing our hands regularly, staying at home wherever possible, and practising social distancing when we do venture out into the world are all tantamount to maintaining our health throughout this pandemic. Unfortunately, in these chaotic times, it is easy to feel as though we have no control over life or our health.

And while much of the current crisis does remain out of our hands, there are things we can do to help ourselves feel healthier and happier. Ensuring that our immune system is working at its best will bring reassurance during these trying times, and as we move into an uncertain future.

1. Maintain a Healthy Diet

Eating a healthy diet is truly one of the best things you can do for your body, and while there is no single ingredient that will prevent you from getting sick, ensuring you are getting plenty of protein each day is vital to maintaining a good immune system, as it helps the body to create antibodies against infection. Without consuming enough protein, we can start to feel tired, weak, and more prone to catching colds and infections.

Similarly, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables will provide the body with vital nutrients, especially vitamins C and E, and beta-carotene, which can keep the immune system functioning at its best. Top immune-boosting foods include citrus fruits, ginger, red bell peppers, broccoli, garlic, spinach and almonds.

COVID research suggests the vitamin D level in the body dictates the severity of the virus. Vitamin D is the "sunshine" vitamin. Appropriate time in the sun provides vitamin D. In your diet, eat more salmon, tuna, sardines, egg yolks and mushrooms to name a few. To supplement vitamin D, desalinated Cod Liver Oil is the best type of supplement.

You should also make an effort to ensure you are drinking enough water each day. Doing so will not only help flush toxins from the body but also aid in keeping the body’s systems functioning properly.

2. EMF Protection

Electromagnetic radiation poses a significant threat to our health and wellbeing, even when we remain at home. In fact, our homes are now filled with EMF-emitting devices, from your Wi-Fi router to your hairdryer, meaning we are constantly exposed to dangerous levels of radiation that can have a profound impact on our minds and bodies.

EMF is treated much like a virus as it enters the body, prompting an immune response that puts the body under a great deal of stress. Of course, everyone reacts to EMF exposure differently, and some are more electrosensitive than others; it has been shown to manifest in pain, rashes, headaches, irritability, depression, insomnia, pain and sexual difficulties, but these are just a few of the many debilitating side effects overexposure can bring about.

As the body responds to this threat — and continues to be exposed to sources of EMF scattered throughout every room of our home — our energy reserves are depleted, leaving us feeling under the weather, and as though we are struggling just to get through the day.

In order to make sure our immune system is ready to fight off whatever comes our way, we must make sure we limit exposure and direct contact as much as we can, as well as always having the right effective EMF Protection in place. Zone protection within your home will ensure that you, your loved ones, and your pets remain safe.

What’s more, with the introduction of 5G, our daily exposure to EMF will likely undergo another drastic increase, and ensuring that we are always leaving the house with sufficient personal EMF protection will be paramount to ensuring we stay healthy, whether we are at home, or on the go.

3. Sleep

We all know the value sleep holds; at some point or another, we have all been told that a good night’s sleep will improve our perspective, but resting soundly throughout the night also plays a pivotal role in ensuring our immune system is able to stay in tip-top condition.

Although our needs can vary from person to person, typically, an adult requires seven to nine hours of sleep each and every night. Without it, we can suffer from headaches, lack of focus, depression, high blood pressure, and a weakened immune system.

During sleep, our body creates and releases proteins known as cytokines, which are important for targeting infection and inflammation within the body. These immune-boosting proteins are so important that studies have found those who have not had enough sleep are more susceptible to infections, such as the common cold.

In order to get a good night’s sleep, it is important that you make an effort to relax before getting into bed. Brewing a cup of chamomile, lavender or lemon balm tea, taking a gentle stroll around the garden after eating, meditation, and reading are all popular practices for those struggling to fall asleep at a reasonable time of night.

It is also important to be aware that EMF exposure can disrupt the body’s production of the hormone melatonin, which is vital to maintaining your circadian rhythm and falling into a restful sleep each night. Turning off the Wi-Fi each night, keeping phones, laptops and tablets away from the bedroom, and keeping an EMF Blocker close to your bedside will make it much easier for you to fall — and stay — asleep each night.
